The Red Spot King Prawn is a reef prawn – it likes to stay within 30 kilometres of coral reefs. The Red Spot King prawn is a popular choice for all Townville homes and seafood restaurants because it really quite attractive with a cute red spot on the tail section.

Dispelling the popular myth that King prawns get their name because of their size, well that isn’t so. Red Spot King Prawns are available in the same grades as other prawns - large and small.

U/6 = 12 prawns per kilo (Huge!)
U/8 = 16 prawns per kilo (Huge)
U/10 = 20 prawns per kilo (X-Large)
U/15 = 30 prawns per kilo (X-Large)
9/12 = 20 prawns per kilo ( X-Large)
10/20 = 30 prawns per kilo (Large)
21/30 = 50 prawns per kilo (Medium)
30+ = 70 prawns per kilo (Small)
